If anyone has watched any of my videos, you may have noticed that I love sculpting in 3D. So when I saw that CGCookie had a Blender sculpting workshop on realistic characters, I instantly said, “Yes, please!”. As the price tag is higher than what you would see for anything else at CGCookie, many may have questions about what to expect, and if it is worth the money. So, let’s answer those questions!
NOTE: Spring Workshop 2016 in Progress. Watch for the Summer 2016 workshop. (02/20/16)
If you haven’t noticed already, I love learning as much as possible. Also, I tend to go through a lot of workshops/courses, and later review them. I found this workshop shortly after finishing the Concept Cookie Workshop, wanting to learn more to refine my newly found skills from the previous workshop. The online brochure looked great, and even one of my art groups agreed. I volunteered to be the guinea pig, and send recommendations back to anyone else that was interested. Unfortunately, I have not finished this one, and never will. Now I will take the time to tell you why.
I can’t believe it took me so long to finally write this, as I thought I had long ago. Regardless, as it almost time for the 3rd run of this CGCookie workshop, it’s only fair to review it as soon as possible. So, if you follow Tim Vonn Reuden at all, or watch the Concept Cookie Livestream, then you can imagine what sort of things to expect. Of course the workshop gives you so much more foundation, instead of drawing “X”, or lighting “Y”.
I think it’s finally time to start reviewing the Andrew Price’s Architecture Academy. I’ve been in this course for half a year now, and I’m just getting to the point of finishing. Granted, I had a few months where the Academy took less priority than other tasks, but just last month I started back again, putting my nose to the grindstone, and knocking out 6 weeks worth of Academy. So I think it’s safe to say I can make a fairly solid article about Blender Guru’s Architecture Academy.
If you’ve read any of my other articles, you have probably heard me talk about an awesome workshop, that I wouldn’t know where I would be today, had I not attended it. This is that workshop, BlenderCookie’s Mastering Modeling In Blender Workshop, instructed by Jonathan Williamson. This workshop was made into an “instant access” workshop earlier this year, with a reduced price anyone can consider, as well as hours upon hours of video tutorials you couldn’t find anywhere else.
